Choosing the right nozzle for the job can be crucial to the success of your high-pressure job being done in the most efficient and economical way, as it is the nozzle, combined with the correct pressure and flow, that ultimately determines the outcome of the high-pressure job.

Flow and pressure are crucial for correct nozzle selection and vice versa. Depending on the choice of nozzle, different nozzle inserts can be selected – High flow (large nozzle insert) can be useful for cleaning more vulnerable surfaces or where the “cleansing effect” is important, low flow but high pressure (small nozzle insert) is the solution e.g. for tasks where a cutting effect is desired, pipe cleaning tasks in small diameter pipes.

In some cases, a combination of both high flow and high pressure may also be the most ideal solution for your specific application – please consult us, so we can find the right solution together.

To calculate which nozzle size to use, there are various nozzle calculation programs / apps where you can find the right size and number of nozzles for a specific task by entering relatively little information. Sihm Højtryk also has such a calculator available for free download on both App Store and Google Play.

The right nozzle ensures that your job is done in the most efficient way, using a limited amount of water and energy. In addition, the load on your high-pressure unit, and therefore wear and tear, will also be kept to a minimum as the dimensioning is correct.

Finally, it also improves safety on site, as the right nozzle minimizes the risk of overloading the equipment and causing damage to surroundings and operator.
