The high-pressure pump can be used in various stages of Power-to-X (PtX) technology by enabling the efficient conversion of electricity into usable chemical fuels or raw materials. In the PtX process, renewable electricity is first generated, typically from solar or wind energy.

The high-pressure pump can now be used to push the water through an electrolysis cell where the water (H2O) is split into hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2). This is called electrolysis and is essential for the production of green hydrogen. The high-pressure is necessary to ensure an efficient and fast electrolysis process where the hydrogen is extracted and can be used as a clean, sustainable energy carrier.

The green hydrogen produced by PtX can then be used for multiple purposes. It can be used as a transportation fuel, stored for later use or used in chemical processes to produce synthetic fuels such as methanol or ammonia.
